Is a Prefabricated Office Resistant to Earthquakes and Wind?

Prefab offices, produced in sizes suitable for every need and workspaces, have been increasingly used recently in our country and around the world. Prefab offices are preferred by many people due to the numerous advantages they offer. The work environments we use in daily life also have all kinds of facilities and amenities; these are also available in prefab offices. All essential needs such as phone, internet, water, and electricity are provided in prefab homes.
Prefab offices are favored by many users for their affordable price and quality appearance, but some questions still remain in minds. Common questions include whether prefab homes are resistant to earthquakes and wind, or if they would be damaged during an earthquake. There are many precautions taken to ensure prefab homes are earthquake-resistant.
When setting up prefab offices, the openings for plumbing and electrical installations are made on the flat concrete base, and the prefabricated structure is placed onto this pre-laid flat concrete foundation. As a result of R&D studies, compared to other traditional structures, they have less contact with the ground and are therefore highly resistant to earthquakes.

The minimal contact with the ground raises a few questions. For example, is it resistant to wind? If I want to place my prefab office at a high altitude, will it fly away? These questions stem from the fact that prefab offices are portable. The negative aspect of these structures being portable is that people immediately assume that if it can be moved, it will fly away in the wind. But that’s not true. Prefab offices may seem lightweight, but when assembled, they become quite heavy. The lightest prefab office weighs over a ton on average. When you start living inside these prefab offices and secure your belongings to the walls, the overall weight increases. This makes them resistant even to high-speed winds. Winds stronger than that, such as tornadoes, are natural disasters. Such natural events are quite rare in our country. However, don’t forget to get insurance.
From another perspective, if these houses could fly away in normal wind, we would see headlines about prefab houses flying away every day on news broadcasts. In short, the claim that “prefab houses or offices are not resistant to strong winds” is just a myth. There is no real evidence or example to support this.

What is the Importance of a Prefab Office Manufacturer?

Recently, we have heard that manufacturers cut costs by not using quality materials when producing prefab structures. This is a wrong approach. In the long run, it will cause problems.
To ensure prefab offices are resistant to natural disasters, the manufacturer chosen must operate with high quality and professionalism. Prefab house manufacturers should be selected from reputable, quality companies. Quality companies always prefer high-grade materials in prefab office production, ensuring the structures are built solidly. When you want to have earthquake-resistant and disaster-proof prefab homes, it is crucial to choose the best manufacturer for your project.

Makro Prefabrik has conducted extensive R&D before producing prefabricated building models. The R&D efforts on the manufactured prefabricated building models have been evaluated, and the mistakes made by other manufacturers during production have been corrected. These efforts are still ongoing today. The reason for this is that we want to constantly follow and adapt to new technologies. We are working to produce timeless, future-oriented prefabricated buildings that will not go out of fashion.

Another prefabricated structure produced with Makro Prefabrik quality is prefabricated houses. In recent years, prefabricated houses have been increasingly preferred and are used confidently throughout Turkey. Due to their easy construction, stylish appearance, and low cost, both practical and economical prefabricated houses are frequently chosen.
