How Is the Roof System of Prefabricated Buildings Built?

Recently, we can see the structures produced in factories as offices, dormitories, dining halls, and even houses around us. Indeed, prefabricated site models are used in construction sites, military areas, and mining fields. Because these structures bring together many different facilities under a single roof. Speaking of roofs, the roofing system of these structures is also built differently compared to other buildings. In this article, we have researched and written in detail about the roofing system of these structures.

Every building must have a roof. After all, the roof is an inclined and insulated area. Contrary to popular belief, the part of a structure most exposed to cold and heat is its roof. For this reason, important factors affecting the climate inside the structure range from roofing materials to insulation materials inside. These factors are as follows.

Steel roof truss: When we look at the plans of these structures, we don't see this very often, but thanks to the roof trusses, these trusses are very important to carry the snow load that falls on the structure. In other words, regarding the engineering and strength of the house, these trusses are located on the right and left sides of the roof.

Roof material: The roof material is also very important. After all, the roof should be inclined because it is necessary for the snow or rain falling on the structure to slide off. Additionally, the standard roof material is coated galvanized, but metal tiles and shingles can also be optionally installed. Each material has its own unique features.

Insulation: Contrary to popular belief, the part of the structure that heats up and cools down the most is its roof. Therefore, this area needs to be insulated. Usually, materials like rock wool are used for this purpose. However, sometimes different materials can also be used in these areas. You can also purchase one of these structures with a sturdy and long-lasting roof and start using it immediately.

What Are the Features of Insulation Materials Used in Prefabricated Structures?

These structures produced in factories are used in many different parts of our country. From this perspective, these structures are manufactured to be very practical and durable. Because these structures can be used for many years. They are produced with insulation. All materials used in the production of these structures are of high quality, and insulation materials have some distinctive features. Some of these features, depending on the insulation material, are listed below.

EPS foam

Materials like EPS foam are generally used to insulate the walls of the structure. After all, the insulation of these structures is carried out very meticulously. EPS foam generally has an easy-to-assemble structure and prevents heat transfer between walls. It is also lightweight in terms of weight. Thus, it does not burden the walls. On the contrary, it makes the walls more effective and lighter.

Rock wool

In the roofs of structures produced in factories, more effective materials like rock wool are generally used. Because, contrary to popular belief, the roof of the structure is the part most exposed to cold and heat. Also, roofing materials like galvanized can produce noise when it rains. These structures are fire-resistant and provide good sound insulation. Since they are produced by passing through very high thermal processes, they effectively provide heat, liquid, and sound insulation.

How Are Prefabricated Shower and Toilet Areas Made Waterproof?

These structures produced in factories can be used throughout the four seasons all over our country. These structures are completely made waterproof from the outside. However, prefabricated toilet and shower building models need to be made waterproof from the inside as well. Many different materials are used for this purpose. One of the main reasons for making these structures waterproof from the inside is to prevent internal decay and to make cleaning easier inside. A waterproof surface is easy to clean.

Primarily, a drainage is opened in structures that have a toilet and shower area. Thus, water inside the bathroom can be easily drained. Also, considering that the structure is built on a flat concrete surface, the floor must first be insulated from the toilet or bathroom. Materials like epoxy are used for this purpose. Because this material easily takes the shape of the ground and, once dried and hardened, truly provides liquid insulation.

On the insulated floor with epoxy materials, some factories place insulation materials. However, since the floor is already thick, this may not be necessary. Instead, materials like plasterboard can also be used. Additionally, ceramic or PVC cladding is applied to shape the bathroom. This allows the interior to take the form of a toilet or bathroom. You can also purchase one of these easy-to-clean structures and start using it immediately.
